Guide to cork products in buildings

Natural product
- It does not produce harmful emissions.
- It is breathable.
- There is no danger from rodents.
- For isolation of enclosures it is not necessary to leave an air chamber.
Beneficial effects of cork
Cork is the insulator that provides the most in performance and unalterable durability. Being a natural product, it provides experiential comfort without any aggressiveness for all beings in its environment. It protects living beings in the same way that it does in the forest with the trunk of the tree.

CORK ECO BLACK
Thermal and acoustic insulation of the Ecological building
It is a product composed of virgin cork from the forest that is crushed into grains. It is agglomerated into blocks and subsequently cut into plates. It is manufactured in a special way, by pressing it in a closed autoclave, injecting it with steam at high pressure and temperature and the suberin, which acts as a binder, is melted.

Features
It is the best for thermal insulation, which also acts as an acoustic insulator by absorption. The pure, adhesive-free and ecological agglomerated product has a density of 110 kg / m3.
It is manufactured in sheets of 1 x 0.50 m. In 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 mm thick.
Aplications
This material can be applied in cold rooms, public buildings, houses, factories and farms.
- Thermal isolation.
- Acoustic conditioning.
- Impact sound reducer.
- Expansion joints.
- Insulation for humidity.
- Sloped and flat roofs.
- Isolation partitions.
- Exterior walls.
Utilization
In perimeter walls it is advisable to use a minimum thickness of 50 mm. And for covers from 80 to 100 mm. Although the final exact calculation corresponds to the project technician.
For thicknesses greater than 50 mm, it is advisable to install two or three thicknesses in several layers, placed to break the joint to avoid thermal leaks, thereby increasing the insulating efficiency. This does not represent any increase in the cost of the material to be installed, since its price is proportional to the thickness.
Organization
It is served in complete packages of 300 mm in height. The m2 that each package contains are as follows.
- In 20 mm it contains 7.50 m2.
- In 30 mm it contains 5.00 m2.
- In 40 mm it contains 4.00 m2.
- In 50 mm it contains 3.00 m2.

We are going to inform you about useful tips for installation and use of this material.
Before starting the installation, it is advisable to free the tiles from the plastic protector and let them air in the same room where they are to be installed, to balance their humidity level with the room. Then it is left for a minimum period of 12 to 24 hours.
It is glued to the pavement in rows like ceramic tiles. The rows to break together are usually interspersed. Starting the first row with full tile, the second row with half tile, and the third row again with full tile, and so on. For cutting you can use a utility knife and a ruler. That easy.

BASE FOR PARQUETS

It is suitable for floors, walls and ceilings and the consumption is 0.450 kg / m2.

ECOTACK CORK 2C
Water base
If you do not want to use solvent-based glue due to the annoying smell in the application, we propose as a second option Water-based glue, without solvents, to apply to the support and the cork, but with a waiting time for the final coating of a minimum of 1 hour approximately, you have to wait for the glue to be completely dry.
It is suitable for walls and ceilings. The approximate consumption is 0.30 kg / m2.
With water-based glues, gluing is slower than with solvent-based glues, since it is necessary to wait until the glue applied to the support and the cork has dried before finally placing the cork. From here on, the gluing will have the same strength.
