It is manufactured in two sizes: 2-4 mm, 2-9 mm.
This natural insulating granulated cork comes from the manufacture of Black Ecological Agglomerated Cork sheets . It is autoclaved with superheated steam at high pressure and high temperature. With which the resin of the cork itself remains distilled, decreases the specific weight and modifies its cellular structure by expansion. Obtaining a granulated cork shavings in bulk with a highly improved coefficient of thermal conductivity with respect to raw granules, or only boiled.
This manufacturing system means that the final product is perfectly identifiable visually due to its black color and its very peculiar smell of toast, which gradually disappears over time.

Expanded cork granules are used for thermal and acoustic insulation. The blowing of granulated cork consists of filling the holes and cavities in walls, ceilings and floors to reduce heat loss in winter and overheating in summer , thus reducing electricity consumption and improving energy efficiency .
