It is a product composed of virgin cork from the forest that is crushed and agglomerated in plates, which binds together by continuous pressure and temperature with a minimum addition of 2% of water-based polyurethane binder (suitable for food use). Which does not give any smell.
Due to its level of density, it is very suitable to act as an acoustic and vibratory barrier. It has a very rough surface finish on one side, which is very beneficial for achieving acoustic correction and avoiding sound rebounds in the premises where it is installed. Excellent thermal insulator. Once installed, if desired, it can always be plastered, coated, varnished or painted (to prevent the joints from being seen, it can be covered with a fine fiberglass veil mesh and then applied the finish), without losing its benefits. Thanks to its high level of density, it is very suitable for installing on the ground and can perfectly support the weight of any flooring.
Density 230 kg / m3.
It is manufactured in sheets of 1, - x 0.50, - Mts. Usually 30, - / 40, - / 50, - mm thick and on request: in 20, -mm from 300, -m.2 and in 60, - mm from 100, -m.2 For thicknesses greater than 50, -mm it is advisable to install two or three thicknesses in several layers, placed to break the joint to avoid thermal leaks, thereby increasing the insulating efficiency. This does not represent any increase in the cost of the material to be installed, since its price is proportional to the thickness.
Use: Acoustic and thermal insulation. Impact sound reducer. Expansion joints. Insulation for humidity. Sloped and flat roofs. Isolation partitions. Exterior walls. Medium performance anti-vibration bases.
Applications
Cold rooms. Public Buildings. Households. Factories Farms, among other uses.
If it had to be installed outside withstanding rain or temporary immersion of rainwater, it would have to be protected with a waterproofing type anti-drip.
